As Ibiza slips into the final days of its season, there is still time for one last escape under the cherries, from Mediterranean mornings at Destino Five Ibiza and long lunches beside the pool to sunset dinners, open-air sets and the closing parties an entire season has been building towards.

There is a particular version of Ibiza that only reveals itself as the season draws to a close.

October brings a different rhythm to the island. The pace softens, the crowds begin to thin and the Mediterranean light takes on a different quality. Afternoons linger a little longer over lunch, golden hour becomes an occasion in itself and there is a sense that every experience is worth savouring precisely because there are only a few days left to do so.

After dark, however, Ibiza is anything but winding down. The energy intensifies as residencies reach their final nights and months of music build towards one last dance. Across Pacha Ibiza and Pacha ICONS at Destino Five Ibiza, the closing season gathers momentum towards a shared finale on 11 October, one last celebration from the open-air stage at Cap Martinet to the dancefloor beneath the cherries.

Before the season draws to a close, there is still time for one last taste of Ibiza under the cherries.

Stay above it all at Destino Five Ibiza

Perched above Cap Martinet, with the Mediterranean stretching towards Formentera and Dalt Vila catching the last light across the water, Destino Five Ibiza feels removed from the island’s frenetic side without ever being disconnected from it.

Set within a villa-style enclave surrounded by Mediterranean gardens, the resort unfolds across 161 rooms, suites and villas. But the appeal lies as much in what happens beyond the room as within it. A day might begin over breakfast at Cielo, drift into an afternoon beside Playa Pacha’s cherry-shaped pool and reach golden hour over dinner at Elia, before Pacha ICONS takes over the open-air stage for one final dance on 11 October.

It is a rhythm that has defined the summer, and there is now a finite window in which to experience it. Destino Five Ibiza closes for the season on 12 October, making these final days the last opportunity to check in this year. For direct bookings, Ibiza on the House also returns 100% of room spend as food and beverage credit across the resort.

Let the morning take its time

Ibiza has always been famous for what happens after midnight. The pleasure of its closing weeks is remembering just how good the island can be before dark.

At Cielo, mornings unfold on a breezy, finca-style terrace. Open to both hotel guests and outside visitors, breakfast is deliberately unhurried: live cooking stations, freshly pressed juices, Mediterranean classics and locally sourced ingredients set the pace for a day that has no particular reason to move quickly.

From there, the obvious destination is Playa Pacha. Its cherry-shaped pool becomes the centre of the afternoon, with Balearic beats drifting through the air and oysters, ceviche and grilled seafood arriving directly to the sunbed. For those not staying at the resort, a Pool Day Pass starts from €80, fully redeemable against food and drink. As Destino Five Ibiza enters the final days of its season, these are among the last opportunities to experience the poolside rhythm that has defined summer under the cherries — long lunches, warm afternoons and nowhere in particular to rush to.

Follow the sunset to Elia

Some restaurants offer a sea view. At Elia, the Mediterranean feels almost like another guest at the table.

Inspired by the Greek islands, the open-air restaurant serves freshly caught fish, sea bass ceviche, octopus carpaccio, lobster pasta and flame-grilled meats alongside colourful mezze and a catch-of-the-day ritual that sees guests select their fish before it is grilled and presented tableside.

But Elia is perhaps best understood through the way an evening evolves. Afternoon light turns gold; cocktails appear; white wine is poured; dinner becomes aperitivo and aperitivo becomes a gathering. Nothing requires a particularly strict itinerary.

From Saturday through Thursday, Elia Supper Club takes that progression further as the music rises and the distinction between restaurant and nightlife begins to dissolve. Every Supper Club reservation includes complimentary access to Pacha Ibiza, creating an itinerary that feels instinctively suited to the island: dinner at Elia, sunset over the Mediterranean, then into town and under the cherries. With the season drawing to a close, there are only a handful of evenings left to experience it.

Make dinner the beginning of the night

Closer to the dancefloor, Pacha Restaurant turns the same philosophy into Dine & Dance, connecting dinner with the night ahead in one continuous movement. The menu moves between East and West, with wagyu tataki, lobster tempura, king crab salad, glazed octopus and amberjack with aguachile among the dishes designed for sharing, before the evening continues next door.

And once inside Pacha Ibiza, there is Paradiso Ibiza. Set on the club’s theatrical terrace, the Ibiza outpost of the acclaimed Barcelona bar offers its refreshed cocktail menu and Paradiso Cocktail Packs, making it a natural final stop before the evening gives way entirely to the dancefloor.

Save the final dance for the closings

There is a reason Ibiza’s closing parties have acquired a mythology of their own. A closing is never simply another date on the calendar. It is the point towards which an entire residency has been moving all summer: the final room, the final crowd and the final opportunity to hear that particular combination of artists before everything resets for another year.

From now until 11 October, those endings arrive almost nightly.

Purple Disco Machine turns off the mirrorball on Pure Pacha on 1 October, before Robin Schulz plays his final Saturday and Solomun strips Solomun+1 back to its essence on 4 October: Solomun, alone, all night long. Sonny Fodera follows with Fatboy Slim, Danny Howard and Saffron Stone. On 6 October, Rampa brings ANARCHY to Pacha Ibiza for the first time, joined by electronic music pioneer Sven Väth and JAMIIE, adding another standout night to the season’s final week. Mau P then takes Baddest Behaviour through its final Wednesday with an all-night-long set.

Then comes Music On. Marco Carola’s residency closes across two nights at Pacha Ibiza, with Michael Bibi, Cloonee, Mason Collective and Frank Storm on 8 October, followed by Franky Rizardo, East End Dubs, Ilario Alicante and Ale De Tuglie on 9 October, before moving back into the open air for one final chapter.

On 11 October, Marco Carola returns to Destino Five Ibiza with Luciano, Rossi. and Davide Squillace for the closing of Pacha ICONS. Here, the open-air setting becomes part of the performance itself, as the final afternoon of the season moves from golden hour into house and techno beneath the night sky.

And then, one last weekend

Everything ultimately points towards Grand Closing Weekend.

Part One arrives at Pacha Ibiza on 10 October as Flower Power brings together Roger Sanchez and LAEET, with special guest MK delivering an exclusive ’90s set that journeys through one of dance music’s most defining decades.

Twenty-four hours later, Grand Closing Weekend Part Two sees PAWSA, Miguelle & Tons take over Pacha Ibiza for the final night of the season, while Music On closes Pacha ICONS at Destino Five Ibiza on the very same day. Two venues, two final celebrations and one last Sunday beneath the cherries.

There will, of course, be another Ibiza summer. But there are only a handful of days left in this one. One more slow morning. One more afternoon beside the pool. One more dinner as the sun disappears beyond the horizon. One more night when nobody is quite ready to go home. And one last dance under the cherries.
