The 31-year-old woman who was allegedly assaulted by her former partner on Sunday remains in the intensive care unit at the Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Ibiza.

She is recovering from a traumatic brain injury and multiple injuries sustained during the gender-based attack at her family home. The suspect, who was reportedly subject to a restraining order, is accused of carrying out the assault.

The private medical centre confirmed this morning that the woman continues to be treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and remains in a serious condition with a guarded prognosis. She has been in critical care since her admission on Sunday and is, the clinic stated, “under strict medical supervision”.
